So does anyone think we should still have this archaic system of bowls? This current system is set up to reward only those from the big six conferences. The Mountain West, this year, was a better conference than the Big East, PAC-10, ACC, and possible even the Big Ten; Utah and TCU were better than Ohio State and Penn State, the two best teams from the Big Ten.
Look at the wins: Michigan, Oregon State (who beat USC), Texas Christian, BYU, and now the Sugar Bowl. The lone undefeated team in Division I football. And the reward is what - a final BCS rank of 2 or 3? It is a pathetic system. By the way, this was not a great upset - I expected Utah to beat the Tide, even though Alabama really wanted to make a statement in this game.
