Well, I am officially back on the teaching bandwagon. I just finished training again for University of Phoenix so I can teach night classes for them. I want to teach adjuct for a university but cannot seem to make it fit with my day schedule. I do have a cute little boy that sleeps at odd times. While most kids take an afternoon nap my boy takes an early morning nap and them is ready to go the rest of the day till 7pm. Then he gets pretty grinchy. He is not really on everyone else's schedule. He has finally started to say our names. I am Mum. Jed is Dada. Kinda funny and cute. He keeps us busy.
Well I get to teach a constitutional history class starting on Thursday. I will spend my time talking about rights, what changes have happened and fun stuff like that. My mentor is giving me lots of great cases to talk about. Like whether a cop needs a warrant for a drug smelling dog to be at your front door. He can smell drugs from there but its a common area so he does not need a warrant. Pretty weird... and somewhat mundane. I hope only to discuss really fun ones. I am glad I don't have anything to hide.
Did I mention we saw a police dog demonstration by our local K-9 unit? The moral is: they really aren't trained to kill you. They are really fast. They will attack if you make a move toward their cops and they are trained to get out of the vehicle if there is a threat and run to protect their cop. All in all, they get you and don't let go. It was pretty neat and I have no intention of having one of them after me.
