For all the family members who keep asking me what we have been up to in Florida. First we did take Mom and Jesse to the beach. The waves were rough but it was nice to sit in the breeze and get a little sun.
Jesse just loved sitting where the waves just barely splashed over him and watching the waves. My kids loved digging in the sand and throwing wet sand on each other.
Mom did venture in but the waves were rough and rip currents (when waves sucks sand and you back out to sea) were pretty bad. If you got in too deep it pulled on you. So we mostly sad and felt the nice breezes. Still a great day at the beach.
We also took Mom and Jesse to the Miami Seaquarium. It is like a mini-Sea World. They have a really fun dolphin show, cool sea turtles,

It was a nice day since it had finally started to cool down.

We also took Dad (who arrived a week after Mom) on an Everglades boat tour. The airboat is really fun to ride.

Sadly this is not the right season to see alligators. We only saw one. He was 14 feet and huge! Our guide was really nice and we did see snakes and turtles. Still, when you come to see gators, go during May and June when its mating season.

This is the Jungle Queen Riverboat tour (during day). It goes up and down the river.

While on it you can view the hotels and mansions that border the waterfront. So many wealthy people park their yacht right next to their homes. It then stops at a little island areas where you can see animals and a show. Since we went at night we also got dinner. Notice Jed is posing that way on purpose!

The show had a really talented juggler - the best I have ever seen. He juggled and bounced balls of his arms and legs. Pretty cool. Then they had a ventriloquist. That part was ok. Then we rode home and enjoyed the ride down a night-lit river.
So now you all know what we have been up too! Sadly I forgot my camera when we took Dad to the beach. The storm from Ida washed up white jellyfish (didn't really hurt when you stepped on them, the blue ones hurt!) and it was fun to just wade in and watch kids having fun.
Life seems so hard in Florida. Beaches, warm sun, parks and all those fun places to visit. I bet your family loved coming to see you. What a great trip.
