Shopping with Ashton is very interesting. You think it would be easy because he is still little but its not. Ash does not want to sit in the cart the right way, or really sit at all. He wants to stand, jump, climb, or chew on it. He also insists on facing the opposite way so he can see where he is going. I try to strap him in but he just contorts himself and then bawls (attracting pitying glances from all around us) and basically forces me to release him. So I let him sit facing away bouncing ... and I have to keep one arm on him at all times. Furthermore, he points to every item he can and says "Thad mine" (that mine) or "I need," or "Nommy (mommy) this one." Naturally this cracks everyone up around me and they all fawn over him until he gives them dirty looks. Today the items included a bottle of wine, a girls shirt, and beef sausage. In addition if he wants something he just dives headfirst into the basket to get it. Then he cries when you rescue him and cries until you open the said item. Needless to say shopping is rather stressful for me right now. This is Jed's last really busy semester. I can't wait till its over - so instead of studying at night he can watch kids while I go buy groceries.
I have heard of no such thing as an easier semester in dental school ,but I hope it happens so you can go shopping minus Ashton Monster. :-)
