Lately our days have been filled with pretending. Emma always has a pretend pet along. Today it was a mouse. Yesterday it was a dragon. We had decided to go to the park. Along the way a dragon started to chase us. The conversation goes as follows:
Emma: We gotta hurry! A dragon is going to eat Emma.
Me: is it a nice dragon?
Emma: No, its mean and its eaten me.
Me: Ok lets run. (we walk faster but don't really run)
Emma: Oh its a witch. (sounds effects of wand? or flying?) and now she (mumbling) spell.
Me: do we need to run from the witch?
Emma: No. (mumbling) its a spell.
Me: (confused) ok, lets hurry.
Emma: No, don't hurry. Its now a nice dragon. See, its my friend.
Me: what color is it?
Emma: Its orange and blue and purple.
So on our walk to the park the dragon followed us, flew over a fence, the street of cars (we had to walk across) and then crashed into a bush. Emma then put on a band-aid and kissed his boo-boo.
Talk about a busy day.
Nathaniel used to a lot of pretending at that age. The other kids his age thought he was "weird" I always thought he had a great imagination. He writes great stories now!
Thank you! Hey did you guys buy a house yet? I need to check your blog but I was watching it as you were looking.
