Good Day Family.

I have decided to blog about my summer projects.

I have many I want to get done this year and only two that must be done before the end of the summer. To start with I have a huge eye sore in my back yard.

I have an electrical box in the back corner of my yard. As you can see it is a mess. The city let me know I have to but a 3 foot cement slab around it and clean all the brush away because it is a fire hazard. I have tried to talk to my neighbor many times but he never seems to be home. I plan to put up green dividers in the fence and to get rid of the bush. A lot of digging will happen for this project, which will start Saturday. I am going to lay quik crete and hope it turns out for the best.

Next project.......

My Garage is filled with yard stuff..... and a christmas nativity display for the front yard. I am looking to make the under part of my deck a storage shed of sorts. This picture doesnt show the extent of work that needs to be done. First all the bad concrete hap-hazardly layed has to be removed, the wood pile under it must go, and we have to dig all underneath it about three inches deep. Then I have to frame it up and put quik crete around it. Gravel will be put in the main area. I am putting a wood paneling around the outside and putting a plastic sheeting that is thick and hard underneath to divert the water that collects under the deck.

Don't you love yard work!

Last but not least my fence needs to be replaced in this area and the two stumps need to be removed. I spent last summer cutting down these two crab apple trees and then we put in sod. Thanks to Lori having sod left over.

As you can see, the tree stumps are still tall, (one is hidden in front of the lawn mower) and the fence is terrible. I don't know why they didn't put in a fence and a gate like they did on the other side of the house. It must get done. I can't get a dog until this is done. The fence part leans really bad and is missing wood pieces. I have to put in a few posts, a gate, and lay quik crete underneath. Oh, ya there is the lawnmower. We spend lots of time together!

Well dear family, these are my plans for this summer. If I win the lottery (not that I know how to play or anything) I would like to put a quik crete border around the yard so I don't have to pull out the weedeater. Nasty contraption. We have a love-hate relationship.

By the way the Dandilion war has begun!!!!!!!!!!!!!

This was my lawn last year. I went out every day and picked the plants with my dandelion puller. I had a short truce for the winter but the white flags are gone!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! To all those fellower yard workers. Just think it will all be worth it when fall comes and you have to start raking again. LOL.
